Day 2 of Dayton Trip: Chiefs’ Ten Run Ninth Repeats Comeback Win

The second day of our Dayton, OH baseball trip was no less exciting than the first.  Trailing 7-4 going into the ninth inning, the Peoria Chiefs scored 10 runs, and later held the Dragons in the bottom of the ninth to win 13-7.

It was also a good day because we got to eat breakfast and [...]

Day 1 of Dayton Trip: Chiefs Come From Behind to Beat Dragons

Yesterday was a long day as we left Chattanooga around 7:45 AM.  We stopped in several times along the way, including in Florence, Kentucky to see my Great Great Aunt.  We arrived in Dayton, Ohio around 4, just in time to

Kyler, Peoria Chiefs Get Big League Experience in Miller Park

I’m jealous!  As most of you know, my brother Kyler Burke, plays in the Chicago Cubs organization with their Single-A team, the Peoria Chiefs.  My parents and Kristen left early this morning headed to Milwaukee to watch Kyler and the Chiefs at the Brewers big league park, Miller Park.  Check out the picture Kristen sent [...]

I was always interested [...]

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Gotta love the 7th inning stretch!

For the Love of the Game

For those of you that were not aware, I’m coaching a five and six year old baseball team at Ooltewah Youth Association this year. We are the 5 & 6 Cubs.
I noticed before the season started how intense some of the other coaches were – almost too intense for this young age. At [...]
