Driving down the road today, one of my new favorite songs came on one of the local country music stations. As many of you know, I’m about as patriotic as it gets. I get chills listening to this song every time I hear it! It’s upbeat, and it makes me proud to live in America! Take three and a half minutes and watch the video of “America” by Rodney Atkins!
Now that’s why I love country music!

Dan, thanks for the comment. I have to say though, I think you completely missed the point of my post. I never said that the above song was the MOST patriotic I have ever heard. I didn’t even compare it to any historically patriotic songs, such as the ones you listed in your post. But currently, it’s a great song, with great lyrics, that in my opinion, paints a beautiful picture of what it’s like to live in America. There’s no way to deny it is patriotic, and you really didn’t substantiate any of your negative claims of Rodney Atkins.
I will say that I agree that Bruce Springsteen isn’t my favorite American…but isn’t that what makes this country great? Not all of us are like-minded, but we’re still Americans and we’re still free!
