Vols Lack Discipline, Leader
- 0 Comments... What do you have to say?
I have been a life long Tennessee Volunteers football fan, and whether they win three games or seven games, I will continue to bleed orange. It is worth noting, however, that I believe this year’s team has a complete lack of discipline. Discipline on any type of team starts with the leader, or the coach. I don’t mind the Vols losing to the number four ranked team in the country like they did last night. I mind them acting like a bunch of thugs that have no team discipline.
Two instances stand out from yesterday’s game. One was when Arian Foster was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after a one yard rush. If he had gotten up and ignored the Florida defenders, the Vols would have had a 3rd and 1 situation on their own 37 yard line. Instead, the fifteen yard penalty was enforced, Crompton had to throw the ball, and the end result was a lost fumble.
The second instance was after Jonathan Crompton (who looks absolutely lost) got drilled after a decent run. He got up running his mouth to the Florida defender. Are you kidding me? Crompton, you’re awful! Make a few plays before you start running that mouth. And to beat it all, he ran his yapper to the wrong Florida player. The one who hit him had run off.
This brings me to Phil Fulmer. Phil, you’ve got to get control of your team. I don’t mind losing. But I don’t want a bunch of thugs with no discipline or respect representing the Volunteer state.
