Nancy Pelosi Says No to Drilling, Likes Paying $4 for Gas

This blog is all about my opinion, so here goes:  Nancy Pelosi could quite possibly be the worst Speaker of the House in the history of Congress.  I don’t mind her disagreeing with the President, but for crying out loud, at least come up with a different option!

The International Herald Tribune is reporting that Pelosi stands firm against offshore drilling, and stands to cost the Democrats votes in the upcoming elections.  Duh!  All people, Republicans and Democrats a like, are fed up with the gas prices at the pump.  Instead of doing something about it, Speaker Pelosi wishes to spar with the President.

President Bush acknowledges that drilling for more oil is not a long term solution, but rather a short term easing of our dependence on foreign oil.  Like I said in my last piece, OPEC has us “over a barrel” just because they can.  We have no choice but to buy massive amounts of oil from them.

Even though they hate our guts, the absolute last thing they want is for us to buy our oil elsewhere.  It’s making them too rich!  Even if drilling for oil off the coast of the United States would not produce oil for half of a decade, it would show the middle eastern members of OPEC that we mean business and that one day we won’t be giving them as much of our money.  How do you think they keep funding all of these skyscraper records?

Come on Pelosi, get over your personal vendetta with the Commander-in-Chief and do your job.  Have a hearing or two on our dependence of foreign oil instead of which Major League Baseball players used growth horomones!
