Posted by Kevin

Many young people have dreams of starting their own business, but factors such as fear and lack of resources and support dampen those dreams and often discourage young people from starting their own business.
22-year old Ooltewah High School graduate and business owner, Melissa Hicks, founded Project New Vision aiming to provide a network for young [...]

Have You Ever Wanted To Shoot Your Lawn Mower?

Posted by Kevin

Saw this today, and I just had to pass it along.  I can’t say that I’ve ever wanted to shoot my lawn mower, but I can definitely say I’ve though about blasting my computer into a thousand pieces.
Apparently this man pictured couldn’t get his lawn mower to start, so he thought he’d show it!  He [...]

The purpose of this blog is to provide an online journal for my thoughts.  If you’ve ever visited before, you’ve noticed that I write about business, sports, politics, life and anything else that is on my mind.  Although I am going to continue to write about those topics, I’ve decided to slightly veer closer to [...]

Early Voting in Hamilton County Has Begun

Early voting for the Hamilton County General Election began on July 18.  According the the Hamilton County Election Commission website, 2,950 voters have cast their ballot in early voting.
Out of those voters in District 7, I wonder how many of them voted for me for the vacant School Board seat?  I’ve made my intentions clear, [...]

Nancy Pelosi Says No to Drilling, Likes Paying $4 for Gas

Posted by Kevin

This blog is all about my opinion, so here goes:  Nancy Pelosi could quite possibly be the worst Speaker of the House in the history of Congress.  I don’t mind her disagreeing with the President, but for crying out loud, at least come up with a different option!
The International Herald Tribune is reporting that Pelosi [...]

Jesse Jackson Should Retire

Posted by Kevin

Jesse Jackson is a person I’ve never really had much respect for.  His holier-than-though, hypocritical attitude has gotten old.  He does what he does for the money, and he’s got nobody’s interest at heart but his own.  If there ever was a racist in the world, it’s him.  Here’s a great example of his “good [...]

Too Busy To Blog?

Coming off the long weekend in Destin, I’ve been swamped with work and school! I apologize for the sparse posts, but I have several things in the works including an update on the Hamilton County Sheriff’s race, my local products in professional baseball update, a Burke Holdings (investing) update, and several rants about our [...]

A Destin Independence Day

Posted by Kevin

Autumn’s parents were kind enough to invite us to Destin with them this past week.  After going to the beach every year growing up as a kid, it’s been 3 years since I’ve had the time to make the trip.  We only had four days this time, but hey, that’s better than nothing!  I had [...]
