Our Government Is Losing Its Backbone
- 0 Comments... What do you have to say?
I’m really disturbed by the recent memo that was sent to all Tennessee County Clerks informing them that valid social security numbers should no longer be required to obtain a marriage license. In fact, I’m angered by the state’s decision to send the letter.
It’s not even the idea of not having to show proof of your social security number that bothers me, but the wording of the decision and memo sent out by the state. It reads:
“The Attorney General has now determined that the proper reading of the statute requires social security numbers to be provided by each applicant only if the applicant has one.”
WHAT? Only if the applicant has one? If they don’t have one, then we’ve got much bigger problems than them trying to get married. If they don’t have a social security number, then they’re not an American citizen. And if that’s the case, they shouldn’t be here (unless they have proper VISAs, etc). If someone cannot show documentation of citicenship or valid papers that allows them to be in this country, they shouldn’t be afforded the rights that we have as American citizens. They are breaking the law!
I’m tired of paying for them and losing the principles that make this country so great. Our state officials that believe this garbage should be shipped back across the borders with the illegals! I’ll definitely be contacting my state legislators.
